Bobby Smith spent 37 years in prison. He joined Sent1One Ministries in February 2022 after being turned down from multiple housing options due to his criminal history. Despite Bobby's health struggles including two heart attacks, a stroke, and Lupus. He now has a monthly income, scheduled doctor appointments, transportation, and so much more. The most recent thing Bobby accomplished after joining a mentorship program (Lean On Me Ministries since Aug 2022). He speaks to young men about the negative effects of incarceration and making positive choices to make a difference in this community. Bobby is a true overcomer and what makes him unique is his ability to give back to society with action.
This is a Mentor and Mentee, each mentee that joins the program they get set up with a Mentor. Together they set short-term goals ranging from six to twelve months and long-term goals ranging from one to three years.
The more mentors the better. We believe in walking side by side with each mentee as they grow.
One of Lean on Me Ministries main goals is to reach short term goals, we believe the little things can hold a man back. Thanks to LMM, Allen Sykes was able to get his Driver License and yes he passed the test the first time..
Congratulations !!
After spending 33 years in prison Mr. Johnson now has a place he can call home also he has a voice because he has value. His past does not determine his future and what good can come out of transitioning without mentioning it. Both components are needed to see success across the board.

We teach men how to value their space by speaking out to other like-minded individuals.
We learned how to clear debt, how to start a savings account, and most importantly how to budget finances.
We circle up and pray after each life skill class every Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. because we believe prayer allows a direct connection with God through Jesus Christ.
As we mentor young men by teaching them conflict resolution. We bridge the gap with other organizations like Uncornered to dig deeper and reach lives before they commit to being active gang members
